From September – October 2022, SOPROEN participated in a month-long mission to Suriname with the aim of providing operational support and technical training in the Management Information System that was developed by the company to provide support to the execution of the Affordable Housing Project (AHP).
This intervention was funded by the Islamic Development Bank and headed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Public Housing (MSAHP).
The AHP offers cash housing subsidies to low income households trying to build their first home, or improve/expand their current one.
With this mission, the AHP is officially launched and as of November 15, 2022, more than 800 applications have been made and registered in the AHP MIS. The goal is to benefit about 3,700 households, of which 2,300 will be located in urban areas and 1,400 in the hinterland (rural areas). Part of the support provided by SOPROEN was a full description of the project cycle and training in the use of all the modules that make up the MIS.
