Activities that were carried out by the firm:

• Assess the appropriateness of locally-managed conditional cash transfer programs as ways of contributing towards poverty reduction in Nepal and suggest ways of making them more effective pro-poor instruments.
• Assess the main institutional (for conditional cash transfers) at the VDC level, by identifying key capacity building activities that would address any capacity deficiencies.
• Develop two or more sound technical options for LGCDP’s approach and strategy to piloting locally administered conditional cash transfers for piloting CCTs at the VDC level.
• Draft a preliminary concept note on findings, options for social protection piloting and recommendations, design a report including a detailed work plan and budget for future activities/options related to VDC-level management of social protection programs.
